In 2007 I donated a moose hunt that was auctioned at the RMEF with a tribal moose tag. Rick Oncken bought the hunt and it was filmed by Elk Country Journal. It will air this fall and is titled “THE ORIGINAL BIG GAME HUNTERS OF NORTH AMERICA”.
I employ two, young and gifted outdoorsmen, Max Kipp and Travis Reed. They are both talented outdoorsman and have deep insight into the instincts of our wild game. Travis Reed is also a licensed taxidermist. He can professionally cape your trophy.
I supply Norwegian Fjord horses for all our hunters. There are “The best mountain horses in the world.” They love people and are extremely sure footed.
Most of our hunting can be successful by staying at our ranch or a lodge of your choice. I have included the cost of a tribal tag, lodging and meals, in the “all inclusive price.” This will also cover any back country camp that may be needed. If you elect to purchase your own tag and or lodging and meals, I will discount the price accordingly.
2 of the 5 Blackfeet Boulder Wilderness Bull Elk tags are available. The harvest has been 100% for the last several years with bulls from 330-390 taken. This is a primitive area, but the access is easy and day hunts are possible. 5 bull encounters a day are typical and this is world class elk hunting.
Antelope are on our eastern edge and bucks in the 65”- 75” class will be encountered. There are a few old prairie goats that we spot each year, that are well above the 75” class.
Mule deer inhabit our canyons and mountains. The best bucks I have seen are just below the mountain scree and during the rut. One 204” buck was taken from the mountain last season. All our mule deer hunts will be high country and horseback. These hunts are planned for Nov.1-18, 2008.
Spring Black Bear is open from April 15-June 1, and we are anxious to get you into a good bruin. Help us thin down our baby elk killers. Spring time is a beautiful time to be in the Blackfeet High Country and it also coincides with great trophy trout fishing. Pack your rifle and fly rod.
Fall Black Bear is open on Oct 11 and is good to Nov. 1.
Whitetail Bucks can be taken in the 160 class. They are mainly are in our prairie river bottoms with gentle terrain. This can be easily combined with an upland bird shoot.
Mountain Lions will be open from Dec. 2008 until March 2009. We have a strong population of mature toms. Travis has been running cats for years and has good dogs. Our weather makes it more challenging to have good tracking and trailing conditions. When the weather is right, Travis skins toms.
Coyote hunts will also be available for this season. Exciting hunts using predator calls with Lots of action. Exact dates and cost will be published soon.
Wolf hunts have all been proposed to the Fish and Game committee and we should hear soon if they will be available for this fall.
