| Excellent wild upland bird numbers are on the Blackfeet Indian Reservation. I have exclusive access to several areas that are very productive. Hunting is primarily for Hungarian partridge with some sharptail grouse, pheasants, and jump shooting of ducks and geese. Hunting in 2006 was particularly good with limits on Huns being the norm. The 2007 season was awfully dry and Huns and pheasants numbers were down and sharptails were steady. On my own ranch, it looks like my covey of Huns has wintered well. Out of 16 birds last fall, there are 9 survivors that are starting to pair off and mate. The sharptail also wintered well. We received a good snow pack that will go along ways to refilling the subsurface moisture. Conditions look favorable to a good upland hatch. Hunting terrain varies from flat bottom land along streams to steep hillsides. There are many choices available to fit hunter' s desires and all the areas are great for bird dog use. |

| Options | My dogs or yours. You' re welcome to hunt your dogs. Don't be surprised if it takes them a while to acclimate. Your pups may run hard all day at home but run out of steam after a morning hunt at our elevation. They also may find our dry conditions challenge their noses. My two setters are always available as backups, or all-day workers, for those who wish to use them. |
